On
Saturday and Sunday, January 24-25, 2004, 68
men competed in the second annual WPPTA division
II-V tournament, the Three Rivers Invitational.
Ted Kintner won the event for the second time,
this year with Dave Manges, outlasting Sean
Casey and JP Martha 7-6 in the third set tiebreaker.
Both of the finalist teams came off of grueling
three-set semi final matches. In the quarter-reprieve,
John and David Borland defeated John jr. and
John Adkins sr. In the reprieve, Matt Riva and
Scott Elste defeated Pat Corcoran and Ed Jaicks
in three sets. In the consolation, Del Miller
and Ted Licastro defeated Fred Paganico and
Brian Garlick. And in the consolation reprieve,
Mike Howard and Jim Loeffler defeated Larry
Novissimo and Bill Hittinger. Congratulations
to all participants and we look forward to 48
teams in 2005!
