After further review, QC and Beckett agreed, too dangerous to play. Postponed.

Dave -
Hyde Park wins 3-0 against Camargo in a rain soaked event.
Court 1 - Workum/Matteucci vs. Gohman/Thoman 6-3, 6-2
Court 2 - Hutchins/Fogarty vs. Vollmer/Kohnen 6-1, 6-2
Court 3 - Strife/Miller vs. Freshley/Picton 6-4, 6-1
My only prediction for next week is I hope its not raining.

Reporting from Mount Ararat, the only dry place left.
After scattering the animals (two by two) paddle tennis got started in 3 of the 5 schedule locations. The rain was especially heavy around Beckett Ridge, Glendale and Queen City, with a wild squall hitting the Cincy CC. Those matches will be rescheduled. Just remember if it rains next week you can have no more than 2 postponements pending.
Dave Nostradamus correctly picked all three winners.
Hyde Park prevailed over Camargo in the deluge 3-0.
Similarly, Wyoming prevailed over Indian Hill 3-0.
With the waters rising, the scorekeeper, along with Ripley, reported to Four Bridges for the first Battle for Bridge supremacy in Div 4. (Sort of like being the best surfer in Idaho). In a close overall match, FB one held on to win 2-1 over FB two. This vaults Tony and his evil minions into first place (that is why Ripley came, he didn’t believe it). Construction continues at FB with their 3rd court expected to debut in November. Tony is currently modifying the plans to include skybox luxury suites for his planned playoff hosting. Too bad the schedule calls for FB1 to still play QC, Wyoming and Hyde Park twice and Beckett a second time, that may impact the standings, but we will let him enjoy the moment.
In observing the match it is obvious that this rivalry will have an edge to it.
Flashing back to my earlier predictions, I had 4B1 winning 6-5 in cases of beer consumption. In a not so startling turn of events the teams combined to procure, tap and consume an entire Keg (albeit with some help from the lowly and honored scorekeeper). This is believed to be the first time a keg has been scheduled during a common weekly match. The label from the Keg should be enshrined in the four bridges hall of fame, joining the picture of Glendale from last week.
Next week –
Queen City at HP – The top teams are starting to run into each other. QC hasn’t lost a court yet. They get the check mark.
Glendale at BR – Both coming off postponements, Beckett hasn’t played in 3 weeks, Beckett gets the nod.
4B2 at CCC – The bottom teams also run together. Tough to tell but 4B2 is projected to crack the win column.
CSC at IH – Another tough call. Home team advantage gives preference to IH.
Wyoming at 4B1 – Tony will have the troops fired up, but expect Wyoming’s depth and experience to prevail
WINS TEAMS LOSSES COURT WINS
3 4 Bridges One 0 6
2 Queen City 0 6 postponed with Beckett
2 Wyoming 0 6

... Cancelling because of RAIN? What next week will it be you can't play because it is DARK? Not sure how you do it dave, you are a master tactician ..... being light on players and then getting the other team to agree to cancel because of the threat of a few sprinkles? YOU SIR are inspirational, you should be in sales and not working the midnight drive thru at Wendy's!
Next week will be interesting .... Benning is still in Sweden having his groin taken care of after the FB2 assassins from the Borneo rain forest LIT HIM UP (it was one of those drives to the groin that had the everyone cringing!).... In our battle for respect we have FB1 upsetting Wyoming 2-1 at FB (it's a late game so we are hoping their younger more talented athletes (ie just about everyone on their team) may have to get home early for bed time).

Dave,
We've decided to not only have a keg for the matches, but after what happened to Bill we will now have a nurse on hand each week! Still working on details if it will be male or female????

Men - I must take a stand and state that the GCPTA Men's League will permit courtside female nurses to provide needed care for any injury received during a Men's League match.

Well, if Jay approves it then I will skip the interview process and will see if she can work for "Pro Bono". Or whatever we can provide to her!
