One of the best tournaments of the year is this Saturday.  Not only is it for a great cause, it is also a blast- both during the day & at night.  Rumors are circulating that the level of play could be up there with the Mixed Nationals.  And, because nobody comes from Pittsburgh, there will be no fist-pumping & coming across the net to intimidate.

I don't know whether to go to Garden City for this or to Scarsdale for 50's Nationals- wait, that is a no-brainer.

Rage in the Cage is the real mixed doubles national championship.  All top male players who do not play in the natl mixed enter this event.  Word has it that the current mixed national champs will not make it past the semis.

Agreed!  The Rage is the best mixed tournament of the season by far.  Level of play (more top male players than the Mixed Nationals) and festivities make any regular tour tournament look second rate.  Anyone who's anyone in the sport gets an invitation to play in this.  Looking forward to witnessing some great paddle over the weekend.

I have only played one year and it was a lot of fun. i am really looking forwards to this weekend however, i would hate to get my ass kicked once again by David and Aila. I dont know if they are playing, but if they are I would very much appreciate if someone can take care of them? or another idea would be to call my "friend" Matt Guyaux to take care of bussiness????.
Honestly, that tournament is the best! All the players should sign up. The APTA should create a rule to make this tournament Mandatory!!! It is for a great cause and if you are able to make it there should be no excuse not to play it.
Also, the party is awesome! and guess what??? I AM WILLING TO KEEP MY #1 RANKING IN THE "BEST DRESSED ON AND OFF THE COURT" CATEGORY! I'm bringing the TUXEDO. HAHAHHAHA.
See you Saturday.
Juan

Garden City should see the sun peek out and a high of near 50 so expect Charlies Champions to be breaking out their shorts and showing off white legs this weekend.

Word is leaking on the A draw.  28 teams, some very impressive.  Party that night is sold-out, rumor has it you can scalp some at the Midtown Tunnel or on Route 27 in the Hamptons.

I hear Kevin Dillon from Entourage is in the draw.  And also a lady named "Buttons".  Schmitt, Bancila, Rothschild, Cochrane, Ruppert, Snuggie, that monster Anton, Juan...damn, this is gonna be good.

Noticeably absent are the current mixed champs.  There is also a mystery woman in the draw named Bevon -- another one-word name like Madonna & Cher.  She's lucky enough to have Mikey C as a partner.

Does anyone know when the draw will be out? My partner is coming from Mars and I don't know if she will make it on time.

Through a very complicated psychological profiling process, we have concluded that Jack Horner is one of the following individuals:  Schmitt, Bancila, Rothschild, Crosta, Ruppert, Anton, Gary Newman, Brad Walsh, or Cochrane.

We have eliminated Arraya from contention because (1) there are no errors in Horner's writings and (2) he does not seem to be very extited or excitable.  Going out on a limb, early favorites are either Rothschild or Walsh.

I can confirm it isn't me, but wouldn't doubt that it's Walsh.  Guy has a lot of time on his hands.  I've been following the posts about Juan being the best dressed both on and off the court.  Total crap.  I have better hair and better fashion sense then all the South Americans out there, I make grey look good...

Nonsense!  Tim Mangan best dressed by far.  Old-school:  high-socks, glasses, pink shirt at party, mini-mullet.  Can't teach style, you either have it or you don't.

Timmy #1!
