I'm from Westchester, NY and I recently started playing Paddle Ball with a few friends, and I wanted to know, what's a good racquet to get? I mention that I'm from Westchester, because many of you know there are more club's with paddle courts, then club's without them around here. My friend was telling me Viking makes the best product, though he owns 2 or 3 Wilson paddles. I have played racquet sports my entire life (tennis and squash), and am most likely going to be playing once or twice a week for the rest of the season, so I'm willing to make the investment in a good paddle. Please let me know, and definitely post some links.
EDIT: After looking around the website, and to avoid confusion, we are playing "platform tennis" not "paddle tennis", with the full screens and real paddle balls, not punctured tennis balls.

Both Wilson and Viking make great products. Give us a call 800-211-0776 we can either help you find a pro or select a paddle that is best for you.

I have a follow up question. Is it true that both Viking and Wilson are no longer producing 4.5in grips for paddles? I'm 6'2 and I love my 4.5in grip but when I got a replacement for a racquet warranty, they sent a 4.25in grip citing that Wilson no longer makes 4.5in.
If that is true, what's the best way to increase the grip size? Not necessarily all the way to 4.5, maybe even 4.375 would suffice. Is it as easy as buying an over grip? If so, do you put the over grip under or over the regular grip?
Thanks for any help you can provide!

The best way would be to take it to a local racket professional and have hip properly build it up for you. The easiest way would be to use an over grip.

Hey everyone, I'm headed down to the Wilmington nc area from the northeast. Does anyone know of any courts in that area?

I am just picking up the game and I didn't get any advice prior to getting my first racket. I went with the Wilson Surge BLX (375 grams) and my brother got a Viking Re-Ignite Lite (370 grams).
