The match of the week
Orienta Beach Club -at- Westchester Country Club
MATCH UP:
A fight to stay out of Division 2 - Next weeks match up may just determine who leaves Division I. Match to be held @ WCC so count on plenty of Beer.
HISTORY:
These teams have a had a heated rivalry (on the message board mostly- last seasons low point; McEvoys dog was insulted). WCC won the last match up 3-2 but was beaten 5-0 in the first half of the season. Bragging rights will be earned from a victory on the court.
THE TEAMS:
Westchester CC: Kings of trash talk, who roster more non-members than members and there captain is the undisputed master of stacking. With only 3 points after 3 weeks Westchester is in the cellar but has had to face stronger opponents. Strong team spirit will help Westchester next week.
Orienta BC: Last seasons regular season champs keep their non-members quiet. After an early exit from the playoffs, Orienta finds themselves only 2 points from the cellar. With a stronger schedule ahead of them, OBC needs to post a victory against Westchester next Tuesday.
ODDMAKERS LINE:
Westchester CC will narrowly win a 3-2 victory and Orienta will protest.
let the fun begin.......

I have already started my recruiting!! I hope to spend Sunday in Greenwich, scouting the talent at the Conn. Clasic. For this match only Sunday talent will do, teams that loose on Saturday will not be considered.

We're so desperate that we're thinking of bringing me out of retirement. Who's next? Roger Lankenau?

I say WCC wins at least 4 of 5, and Orienta complains and quits the league. The big prediction is that Orienta will go down for the second half.

Westchester and Orienta are both old news - Watch for Manursing to open a can of whoopass in the second half.

First of all, where are all the Orienta girls on this board. Cant they defend themselves. After the ass kickin WCC delivered last year, I guess they are afraid and for good reason.
As for Manursing, who are they? The guy who plays number 1, I think Tommy Holmes, can barely walk, let alone play paddle. If he is their best, division 3 look out, you may have a tough Manursing team to deal with.

I didn't think Div 2 teams were allowed to use this board........................
I think the boat boys from LYC will stomp out the Rye guys to make Div 1

Some pear you have some short memory - dont forget about that crazy Italian Camardelo from Wykagyl - nobody ever stirred up as much trouble as he did on the messageboard.
be scared, verry very scared of the italian.

Piz we have finally done it !! The Message Board is finally awake. It would be asking too much for our next week's opponent to reply but the boys from Manursing and Larchmont are back, and they have been missed. Commish, can we vote a team off the island???

I think LYC should be in Div 1. They have a better hut and always a keg of beer.
If ya take more than one brewski at Manursing they make ya sign a chit and it's
shame on you...............
Predict WCC down and LYC up. It's the hut stupid....................

Manursing should stay down for two reasons, one, they stink, two, the last time we played there I think they had a warm six pac of Schlitz and a five diet cokes. Brutal. LYC, yes your hut is good and the keg is good, but you stink also. stay where you are.

LYC may stink but not as bad as the WCC hut from what I've been reading.........
