Here's how it works:
There will be 8 three-hour time slots to choose from at each club. Contact your club pro and sign up for one of those slots. You can sign up just yourself or as many friends as you can find. You will have a court (or two) reserved for that time and you can play as much as you'd like. We are asking for donations of either $50 or $100 payable to the "2009 Cincinnati Nationals". For a $50 donation you will receive a 2009 Platform Nationals sticker and for the $100 donation you will receive a black long sleeve mock shirt with the event's logo on the back. All donations are tax deductable and you do not have to play to help contribute. The money raised will go directly to the fund the National Championship that will be held here in Cincinnati in March of 2009. This is the first time that Cincinnati will be hosting the sport's most prestegious event and is a great opportunity to showcase the city and the Cincinnati paddle community. Your club pro can get you signed up and will answer any questions you may have. Happy Paddling!!!!!

Goodspeed/Mansager Capture Third ConsecutiveTitle
The 2007 edition of The Midwesterns again featured a strong draw and great parties over the entire weekend. The level of play was extremely high despite constant rain for 3 days.
In the Women’s Open, the seedings played out as top seed Heather Prop and Lynne Schneebeck defeated #2 seed Courtenay Kotas and Chris Underwood 6-1, 6-3 in the final. In the Men’s Open, the unseeded Chicago team of Marty Engel and Wade Martin had a breakout performance defeating Dan Mott/Todd Ward and Brett Engelsberg/Brad Kelly before falling to David Caldwell and Blake Cordish in the semi’s. In the other semi-final, top seeded Flip Goodspeed and Scott Mansager met #3 seed Mike Cochrane and Scott Estes in a rematch of the semi’s from the Chicago Charities earlier this year. Goodspeed/Mansager avenged their loss at the Charities with a hard fought 2-6, 6-2, 6-3 victory. The final was no less spectacular as Goodspeed/Mansager came back after losing the first set to defeat Caldwell/Cordish 4-6, 6-2, 6-0 and capture their third consecutive and tenth overall Midwesterns title.
In the Men’s 95, John White and Brad Pierce prevailed over Jim Heldman and Rob Hertzel and in the Men’s 110, the “Cal Ripken of PT”, Walt Peckinpaugh, playing in his 27th consecutive Midwesterns, combined with Hank Brightwell to defeat Colin LeVeque and Gary Ryan in the final.
Congratulations also go to Slade McGauran and Brad Brogan who won the Consolation bracket and were the only Milwaukee team to win something during the weekend other than liquor at the raffle.
