CinCincinnati junior
paddle players kicked off the season with the first Friday
Night Junior Paddle Clinic on November 11 at the Glendale
Lyceum.
With
the help of the Lyceum’s Division I men’s team,
thirty-five juniors, age 7 through 17, practiced their
serves, screens and lobs. For some, the Clinic was
an introduction to the game. For others, it was the
opportunity to play with kids like themselves who have
already discovered a love for paddle. The evening
ended with four point games and a fireside chat concerning
rules, score keeping, and s’more-making techniques.
Many thanks
go out to all the kids and parents who made the evening
a success.

Junior
Paddle Clinic at Glendale
The first Friday
Junior Paddle and Pizza was a success. The kids played
lots of paddle and, from what we have heard, had a great time. In
fact, there were lots of kids who clearly did not want to leave
and all wanted to know when the next clinic was. Luckily,
we had a lot of member support which made it possible for us
to accommodate all 35 kids who participated. details

The
Midwesterns
The
Midwesterns will be held on January 13-15, 2006 and is again
shaping up as one of the premier tournaments in the country. Last
year's tournament included over 200 participants
and
featured 8 of the top 10 teams in the country in the Men's Open. In
addition to the normal festivities, this year's tournament will
feature some exciting changes and additions.

Sponsorship
Opportunities for The Midwesterns
This
year's tournament will be benefiting The Children's Home, an
advocate agency that provides adoption services, early childhood
care, education and mental health services to the children in
our community. It is a great way to support one of the
fastest growing sports in our city and a tremendous charity as
well. We are looking for both cash sponsorships as well
as raffle items. For more information on the benefits of
the different levels of sponsorship, contact Mark Kebe at 513-325-7746
or at mkebe@fuse.net.
Upcoming
Tournament
The
West Penn Open will be held in Pittsburgh during the weekend
of December 2-4, 2005. The Women's Open is on Friday December
2 and the Men's Open is on Saturday and Sunday December 3-4. It
is one of the best run tournaments and is always a lot of fun. For
more information, go to their website at www.wppta.org and click
on "Calendar".
