Many junior players go off to college and don't find time for paddle. In an effort to "bring them back" a group of pros is offering College 101 paddle events at holiday times. On January 4, Mike Gillespie and Patty Hogan will host a College 101 event at Canoe Brook Country Club in Summit, NJ. All players (or potential players) 17 and older are invited to attend this fun, free afternoon event. Contact Mike or Patty for more info, or just show up at Canoe Brook between 2:00 and 4:00 that day.
Marjorie's Militia was out in force at Canoe Brook Country Club on Friday, December 4. In support of friend Marjorie Hodson, Pam Randazzo conceived of the Marjorie Matters Platform Tennis Tournament to raise funds for the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation. Along with all those who played and/or donated, special thanks to Drew Broderick; Dave Sprague, graphic designer; Sally Tracy, cake baker and decorator; and Viking Athletics for their donation of professional services or product. Congratulations to Brenda Colvin and Karen Proscia in their win over Theresa Hellmuth and Jenna McClintock.
