2007-2008 Women’s Platform Tennis Wear
Advice from Love Forty Sportswear www.loveforty.biz
Platform season is in full swing: tournaments are on, and weekly leagues are well underway. By now we all hope to be in mid season form with our partners, fine tuning team-strategy, volleys, serves and overheads. In addition, the weather is changing from fall to winter. So, as the temperature gets colder and less predictable, proper attire becomes an increasingly important factor in any match. Playing paddle in wet or sub-freezing conditions is challenging. Competing in clothes that don’t keep you warm and dry is a nightmare. There are different ways to approach dressing for daily climate change: you can trust your local weatherman and hope for the best, or you can ‘just say no’ to cotton and nylon and learn the art of layering.
The key to staying warm and dry is dressing in a combination of pieces that are easy to wear and easy to remove as the match heats up -rain, snow or shine. A base layer, mid layer and finishing piece protect the upper body from cold and wet without restricting movement. The pant should allow for motion- running, bending and twisting, while preserving warmth and wicking moisture.
A note on style: the better you look, the better you feel, the better you play! This stuff looks great both on and off the court.
