Mother Nature provided lots of sunshine for the first Oden Cox Memorial Women's "B" platform tennis tournament. The tournament was held at the Shelter Harbor Paddle Club and featured teams from as far north as Boston and as far south as New Canaan, CT. Cape Cod, Jamestown and Newport were all represented as well. Congratulations to winners Linda Johnson and Leah Nero.

Locals Linda Johnson and Leah Nero won a hard-fought battle against Elizabeth Norton and Kate Saunders of Boston 6-4, 6-2 to claim the title. The Consolation saw a local team win as well, with Nancy Miller and Sue Brandt defeating Kathy Irving and Sam Valasco of Newport, RI 6-4, 6-4. The Quarter Reprieve final went to three sets as Mary Hutchinson and Leslie Haskins of Jamestown defeated Kim McIntyre and Sharon Edwards 6-4, 4-6, 7-5.
