This past weekend Beach Tennis-Chicago participated at Northwestern University’s 1st Annual Spring Fitness & Recreational Expo. Beach Tennis was attended by Will Shane, Beach Tennis-Chicago Director and Matt Garavaglia, Beach Tennis-Chicago’s Professional. The Beach Tennis booth was set-up as an interactive experience for the many attendees who stopped by. Each person was given an opportunity to try their racquet skills, as Will and Matt volleyed and demonstrated how easy it is to learn a new and fun sport. Later that afternoon two Beach Tennis courts were set up on Northwestern University’s beach as Will and Matt were able to showcase and demonstrate to attendees the actual thrill of playing Beach Tennis as everyone loved the idea of being outside on the sand in bare feet and getting an excellent workout. As there are many positive elements woven into Beach Tennis from a pure exercise perspective Beach Tennis-Chicago is currently working on a Cardio Beach Tennis model for the many leagues and tournaments that will be held this summer.
In a very short time Beach Tennis-Chicago has already secured leagues and tournaments throughout the greater Chicago area. You can find leagues and tournaments through the South Barrington Park District; on the sand courts at Community Park; through the Evanston Park District, at Clark Street Beach; and in Chicago, through the Chicago Sport & Social Club, at North Ave. Beach.
