Have
you seen any articles recently on platform tennis in your local
daily? The weekly? On the six o'clock news? Why not? Because press
coverage requires a pitch. Before the 75th anniversary season ends,
consider making an effort to get some local press.
The Promotion
Committee has created a press kit to make the job easy. Included
in this kit are sheets on the history of the game, the rules, the
players, the businesses; even copy-right free photos for members
of the media to use.
Lancaster, PA Intelligence Journal reports: "Lancaster
County's George and Lauren Zink achieved an unprecedented pair of
doubles championships in platform tennis"
"Lauren
and George Zink have won their share of national tennis championships,
but on the week-end of March 12-14, they pulled off an American
first in platform tennis, becoming the first husband wife team to
win both the husband/wife and open mixed doubles national 'championships
in Wilmington, Del."

at Beckett" platform tennis exhibiton between Luke
and Murphy Jensen and Dave
Ohlmuller and Chris Gambino is causing a stir in the racquet sports
world. The event which is scheduled to take place January 15, 2004 at
the Beckett Ridge CC in West Chester,
OH is currently being promoted on the Tennis
Week website. There will be news of the event in the upcoming Tennis
Week magazine set to hit newsstands in a few weeks. There also will be
a follow up piece on the event in a future issue of Tennis Week. Check
