All finals
were played under steady rain. However, fine racquets skills
and outstanding athletisism were under display by all players;
as the good crowd of spectators were very much entertained
by the high caliber play.
This
60 team 3 day Senior Championships were expertly produced
by Richard Lombard of Sleepy Hollow who also competed in two
of the events.
Saturday evening's elegant tournament dinner was the perfect
venue to induct two very deserving new members to the APTA's
Platform Tennis Hall of Fame; Dick Squires and Bob Kingsbury.
