VIKING
CUP 2003
On November 16, 2003, 30 teams descended upon the Montclair
Golf Club and other area clubs to see who would bring home
the honors of the nation’s top Adult-Child teams.
All teams that arrived were previous winners at local play-down
sites throughout the eastern United States. The competition
was tough, and sportsmanship was on display everywhere,
across all the age groups.
The Viking Cup is an child-adult format where the emphasis
is on the child. There are four division: 10 and under,
12 and under, 14 and under, and 18 and under. Adults are
to just keep the ball in play, and allow the children to
dictate the points. The child must play the ad-court in
all matches, and serve first. Winners and Finalists are
listed below. Congratulations to all winners and finalists,
as well as to all participants. The future of paddle is
in good hands, as witnessed by the ability displayed by
the youngsters.
