Apparel/Mens
The Polo Shirt is an indisputable menswear icon – it remains at the core of everything we do.
The 1983 Tipped Polo is a contemporary take on the original Boast Polo shirt. Upgraded with Pre-Shrunk 100% Peruvian Pima Cotton, the 1983 Polo features an external placket, taped seams, split tennis tail vents, signature grosgrain detail, and embroidered leaf logo. We even included a locker loop label for easy hanging. Made in Peru.
FOUNDED BY REBELS AND ICONS
Founded in Greenwich, CT, in 1973 by an All-American Squash player and tennis pro, BOAST was created as the American answer to traditional European tennis brands. With its irreverent attitude and fresh approach to sport, the brand quickly became a fixture among players at the best clubs in the country. BOAST came to define the athlete who valued individuality and expression over convention.
CREATED IN AN ERA WHERE TENNIS RULED CULTURE
The 1970's were a time of individuality and rebellion. On the courts, icons like Connors and McEnroe shattered conventions and redefined what the sport-and its culture-could be. Inspired by this spirit, BOAST, with a lighthearted irreverence to the world of tennis, stood apart from the polished traditions of the game.
SPORTING THE LEAF SINCE '73
Our signature Japanese maple leaf logo wasn't just a design choice; it was a quiet rebellion. From the elite courts of Greenwich, CT, to the pop culture landscape of the '80s, the BOAST leaf became a symbol of irreverence. Beyond the club, the distinctive Leaf Logo could be found in culture at large - worn by the likes of John Updike, George W. Bush, and Joel Goodsen, portrayed by Tom Cruise in Risky Business.
